2011 1st Place Winner - Paul C. from Monterey, CA.
Congratulations to Paul, our grand prize winner in our 30th anniversary Travels with Tofurky Contest. “As Multimedia Coordinator for National Marine Sanctuaries, my job is to go out and film some of the cool stuff we do. One of my favorite missions is always at Aquarius Reef Base in Key Largo, Florida. It’s the world's only undersea laboratory where our scientists go down to live on the bottom of the ocean for up to 10 days to study reef ecosystem health. Aquarius is about the size of a school bus and has quarters for six people with a full galley, laboratory, wet porch, and lots of cool ports so the fish can sit outside and watch the trapped humans inside. We just wrapped our most recent mission out there and I remembered to bring the box! I have seen Tofurky now at most wonders of the world - but there is only one undersea laboratory so I thought this might be new territory.”
